WHAT ARE HERBS?

Herbs are aromatic, leafy and seed-producing plants. The flowers, leaves, seeds and non-woody aspects of herbs may be incorporated for either their aromatic, culinary or medicinal value. They add flavour to dishes, contain therapeutic compounds, and offer fragrances. Widely cultivated and appreciated, herbs have diverse cultural and practical applications in cooking, wellness, and traditional practices.

Spices are plants known for their aromatic and seasoning capabilities that are commonly used in their dried forms. Spices are plant-derived substances, often dried seeds, roots, or bark, (but not limited to fruits, flowers, bulbs, buds, stigmas, stems, leaves and rhizomes) used to flavour and enhance the taste of food. These aromatic and potent additions lend unique tastes, aromas, and cultural significance to cuisines worldwide, making them essential in culinary traditions and trade.
